I would class myself as a gadget geek, keeping up to date with the latest of what’s on offer. I was actually looking for a phone upgrade for my wife, something simple to use but with enough easily accessable tech to keep the phone as future proofed as possible, when I stumbled across the Samsung Wave. What a great little phone. Amazingly smooth and responsive touch screen interface, applications opening up without delay or stutter. The whole interface is very well thought out. Simple to use, well featured. The BADA OS has really captured the best features of the other well known touch screen interfaces out there.

..So I ended up buying one for myself.

Highlights (in no particular order):

* Camera – takes excellent pictures and is quick. Includes a physical shutter button.

* Fast Hummingbird Processor 1Ghz

* Super AMOLED screen – amazing display, rich vibrant colours

* Physical Call and Call End buttons ( it is phone after all..)

* Good media player (music, pictures and movies)

* Good PC syncing software (Kies) to transfer music, pictures, contacts etc

* Onscreen keyboard

* Good call quality

* Build quality and light weight

* Battery life (for a smart phone)

Low points:

* Samsung has a nicely thought out application store – but BADA being a new OS (1.0) there’s not many applications yet, this likely to change over time

* Home screen widgets take up a little too much room so you end up with only one or two widgets per screen

* Looks – I’m half way on this. Perhaps it doesn’t turn heads like some of the others out there. It sort of just looks like .. a phone.. Bring it in to work and nobody is going to rush to your desk and ask “what’s that?”.. I think I prefer this though.

* Mapping – Trial GPS Application included is a little hard to use and missing a dedicated google maps like application. There is a widget that links to google maps however.

I’m thoroughly enjoying the phone. There’s surprisingly little stress in using it as I’ve found with my old phone. Everything just works.

Hope this helps.

great camera,wonderful video recording better than iphone4 as i compared both phones in the shop,i don,t care about apple store as i don,t need lot of applicatios,good battery life,great looking,great colourful display,iphone4,s display got better contrast but samsung wave produce sharp rich colour,i compared audio quality with my wife,s iphone3gs but honestly this is the first handset which is better in this regard,1gh processor is really fast and watching videos on beautiful super amoled display is really enjoyable, great job by samsung at small price.i believe 2011 going to be very difficult for apple as i see samsung as a serious contender.
