This is my second Samsung fax. It has low running costs for the occasional faxes received now. Mostly used for outgoing overseas. Good too at photo copying documents. It takes much less space than its predecessor. Simple and reliable.

I bought this fax machine to replace an old one and what a pleasant surprise I thought my previous Samsung fax was good. But this beats it for its price its simple to use but has enough extra feature if you need them lets just say its money well spent.

I bought a bunch of these for work, but they have a major problem with the ink cartridges that come with the machine. The fax machine comes with a starter ink cartridge with less ink than the normal ones. It’s these starter cartridges (marked M41S) that are the problem; the normal ones (M41) are all right. Failure rate of the starter cartridges in my experience is 40%, which is astonishingly high. Returns processing is to return the whole machine to the supplier, which isn’t always practical. Otherwise, you can buy a “full” cartridge, but this costs almost as much as the machine itself. In any case why should you? You don’t spend money on equipment only for it not to work in any way at all.
I sent a letter to the MD of Samsung UK – no reply – and phoned customer services who promised a callback, but never did. So not only Samsung sell a product that doesn’t work; they don’t support it properly either.
