I only need one word to describe this printer. SUPERB! I recently bought it as part of a home office re-structure and im so glad that i did. I did have a large and bulky laser printer that i managed to get on the cheap before hand and that did manage to do the job. The only problem was that the consumables were expensive and it wasnt cheap when anything on the printer broke. I also had 2 other printers to complete the other functions that the laser printer couldnt do, namely photo printing (which was done by my epson stylus photo R220) and scanning and copying (which was done with a dell oem printer that came with my computer many moons ago)
As you can imagine it was quite a cluttered working environment especially with limited space as i only have 1 room in the house from which to run my business. Therefore i needed to buy 1 printer that would comfortably handle all the jobs of the other printers and save me time, money and be reliable as well. This printer is all those things and more.
I couldnt beleive the speed at which it rattled through documents when set to draft mode and also the quality of the documents was virtually indestiguishable from other higher quality settings. I thought my laser printer was fast but this printer just dumbfounded me. Not had it long enough to say how long the consumables last so cant really comment on that side of things atm. Scanning is very easy to do either via the supplied software or through 3rd party apps with import document support. The printer functions well on its own when copying documents or performing maintenance tasks and provides so much connectivity options to make it indepensible for any home business user. Very easy to share over a home network and the supplied software makes it easy to do this.
Not got a bad word to say about it really, only took about 20mins from taking it out the box before it was fully installed and up and running. Superb value for money and provides many usefull features. Searching online for a printer can be a bit of a minefield these days and with so much choice it can be hard to sort the wheat from the chaff. When i chose this printer all i had to go on was the price point and the existing customer reviews. Hopefully my review will help someone who is struggling to choose like i was. If you buy this printer, i promise you wont be dissapointed.

Epson Stylus BX600FW Colour A4 All-in-One Printer, Copy, Fax, Scan 5760x1440dpi 27ppm (Mono) 19ppm (Colour) – 120 Sheets
When I first wrote this review – see below, I had not used the printer for long and the review set out my first thoughts.
My experience has caused me to downgrade the printer to 3 stars only. I have discovered that it has the same fault as most Epsons – namely that the print head clogs at the first opportunity and seems to have been designed to clog if ‘compatibles’ are routinely used. I have had the first repair carried out under warranty, but that still cost, in the sense that I had to pay for a set of Epson cartridges. Frankly. unless you want to use the printer for professional colour prints (in which case I suspect that you would not be using an A4 all-in-one with only 3 colour cartridges) I cant see why one should have to pay the outrageous prices charged for ink cartridges.
My very (and I mean very) old Photo 950 takes 7 cartridges and is now unusable as the print head has clogged up as I got fed up with paying about £100 for a set of ink refills when compatibles were less than a tenth of that.
Other than this very serious drawback (I think I will with great reluctance have to go back to HP) the printer works fine, as does the scanner and copier. I still have not used the fax. Anyway, what I said first time round was as follows:-
“I have only just received this printer so these are very much first thoughts.
The BX600FW was purchased to replace an HP all in one which is needed for another PC which does not use XP or Vista operating systems (it seems that few if any modern printers have any legacy drivers and cannot be used with older PCs).
First impressions are that it is not as substantial in bulk as the HP, but by the same token is more flimsy.
Set-up is straightforward (but at with all USB devices, please do not plug in until the software has been installed and asks for the printer to be connected – this seems to be where so many people go wrong).
Scanning is reasonably fast and the Epson scanning software (which I have used on other Epsons) seems to be superior to the HPs. Photocopying is similarly faster, but I had no quibbles with the HP either.
Document printing is faster and the quality is slightly better, but given the price I paid for this (unbelievably only £99 from an Amazon marketplace supplier) I was not expecting the very best. Photo printing is faster and again as good if not slightly better. The photo printing software is in many ways brilliant – try the auto red-eye reduction, for example – but in some ways is less straightforward and flexible as some previous Epson programs.
I have not tried the fax, but then I could not get the HP’s fax facility working at all. On a recent Canon Pixma purchase, I followed the advice of other reviewers and did not attempt to use the Canon’s fax at all.
On balance, to date I would rate this as a good purchase and in almost all ways better than the Canon Pixma which I purchased about five months ago. If you can get the Epson, as I did, for £99.00, it is an incredible buy.”

THE INITIAL PRINTER DELIVERED ONLY WORKED ONCE, VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH EPSON. THE EXCELLENT SERVICE PROVIDED BT AMAZON AND MRW WE HAD A SECOND PRINTER DELIVERED AND YES IT WORKS. SO IN REAL TERMS ONE WONDERS ABOUT THE QUALITY CONTROL OF EPSON.
OK IT HAS TRAVELLED HALF WAY ROUND THE WORLD BEFORE WE AQUIRED IT.
THE PRINTER IS VERY PAST, PRINTS VERY GOOD A LITTLE NOISY AT THE START OF EACH PRINT ACTION. AT PRESENT SEEMS TO BE LOW CONSUMPTION OF INK COMPARED TO THE DX4800 WHICH THIS BX600FW REPLACED.
I JUST WONDER WHAT IS THE ACTUAL WORKING LIFE OF THIS MODEL AS THE PREVIOUS EPSON MODELS ONLY LAST FOR 2/3 YEARS.
YES BEFORE PURCHASING THIS ITEM WE LOOKED FOR A MODEL WHICH SEEMED TO HAVE THE COMMERCIAL OPERATING RELIABILITY. TIME WILL ONLY TELL ON THAT FRONT.

on the positive reviews for this printer, I purchased one and I am not disapointed. It did not take long to set it up and as I had some jobs for it to do within an hour I had used the printer for my sons homework, 18 pages in no time, I scanned a colour document and it printed the copy nearly as good as the original, and then sent a six page document by fax, all with no effort. For the cost, heavily discounted of course, I would find it hard to beat. small downside, it could be quieter but its not a problem, I do not sleep at the side of it. So to sum up, an easy to set up all in one device with a reasonable footprint and I would recommend one.
